Overview

A boutique fitness studio with 250+ members needed a platform built from scratch to replace a slow, limited no-code tool. We built a complete dual-interface system: a member-facing progressive web app and a separate admin operations dashboard. The member app features passwordless OTP authentication, credit-based class booking with integrated mobile money payments, electronic waiver signing, Google Calendar sync, and a built-in merch store. A Duolingo-inspired engagement system adapts the entire experience based on member tenure: new members see onboarding prompts and first-class tips, building members see streak tracking and milestone previews, established members see full stats and badge showcases, and lapsed members get gentle re-engagement messaging. Milestone badges reward consistency with free credits at key thresholds (50, 100, 250 sessions), driving long-term retention. The admin dashboard provides real-time revenue analytics, bulk payment approvals, class roster management with walk-in tracking, an Open Gym module for drop-in visits and memberships, a Personal Training module for client management and session packs, and attendance dashboards. Delivered as a PWA installable directly to members' home screens, no app store required. Operational costs dropped from $47/month to under $10/month while delivering dramatically more capability.
